Almost at the end of his career, Farruco was facing probably his toughest challenge. One to form, 12 days, 4 tours, 22 stages and 2 one day races in the addition.
To make this alive we had to find a way how to race Norway and Perm in one top form. For sure, it is more than 13 days between day 34 early morning when the riders leave race break for Norway and day 47 late evening when the Russian tour finishes in Perm. A miracle probably.
Then we were ready to do this last season but an injury ruined our plans. One more season of waiting without racing was painful. A capital loss of coins 70k on purchase of wildcard for Perm was the minor part of the financial loss we suffered the break in competitive racing.
Did it pay off?
1 jersey, 3 wins, 4 GC and 1 SC results, 13 results, nice cash and even better point.
Farruco at 34 yo is at 1305 points, 9th in the OCM riders´ ranking and wearing the jersey of Colombian champion again. With 119 results, he is now at 3rd place of the Kenny Haakon list.
After loosing Vuelta in the closing TT, which was far the worst Farruco rode here, and Perm by 5”, we felt a little disappointment. At the end, we are very satisfied.
Congratulations, our old man, and see you in Valparaiso!

Longo had a perfect season with the nice top form planning for Volta and for combination for Germany and Nederlandse, this gave him 17 results.
good luck with it. always nice to records challenged -- he already had a 21 result season...
With some luck, Farruco can do 20 this season but I´m afraid he is done.
I plan to send him for 5 races as captain just to give him chance to finish as high as possible in the ranking. But only Slovakia Cycling Tour suits him well till the end of the season.
Longo's 22 results in Season #31 is the record...
not bad for an old dog... :-)
Well done! Hope to race against u in Valparaiso.
